Job Description
K2 Environmental Consulting (K2EC) is looking to hire an entry-level Air Permitting professional for our Trenton, NJ Office. K2EC provides environmental consulting and technical expertise for air quality, mobile sources, and sustainability projects. The candidate will be a member of the K2EC team providing technical support at the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP). The position allows hybrid working: 3 days in the office and two days remote. We are an equal opportunity employer and provide an excellent working environment and a full benefits package.
What You'll Do Conduct technical and regulatory review of air permit applications, under guidance and supervision of senior staff, in accordance with the requirements in New Jersey’s Air Permitting regulations found at N.J.A.C. 7:27-8 and N.J.A.C. 7:27-22. The tasks include applicability analysis of State and Federal air regulations, preparing regulatory interpretations and compliance determinations, preparing technical correspondence and staffing the technical helpline to answer questions from the regulated entities, public, and consultants.
Skillset/Qualifications Needed BS degree in engineering or environmental science. Ability to understand, interpret, and apply information of New Jersey laws, rules, and regulations, and Federal regulations relating to air pollution control. Understanding of industrial processes and familiarity with air permitting regulations and pollution control technologies will be a plus.
