Brooklyn Beans is looking for an Assistant Program Director to join our team!

ABOUT BROOKLYN BEANS:

Brooklyn Beans, a non-profit organization located in Park Slope, offers after-school programming at PS 39 during the school year. Our philosophy is to provide meaningful and engaging activities for our students each and every day, striving to create an environment where students can come after school and feel at home.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Brooklyn Beans is seeking an Assistant Program Director of School-Age Programs to join our current team. This position offers the opportunity to be involved in both the administrative aspect of our programs and expand your experience with children. We are looking for someone who can be a strong addition to our leadership team and provide experience and positive energy to our school-aged programs. Come join the fun at Brooklyn Beans!

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan and oversee afterschool and day camp programs and activities in coordination with program director
  • Assist with coordination and management of school-aged programs, including record keeping and documentation
  • Act as a role model to children and other team members, and demonstrate leadership to assure safety and development
  • Ensure a team-based work environment by communicating effectively and positively with supervisors, co-workers, families, and other team members
  • Perform other duties as assigned

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5 years of related experience at an established afterschool or day camp program
  • 1 year of supervisory experience in an established afterschool or day camp program
  • Bachelor's degree or higher – a major in the education field or related is strongly preferred!
  • Proficiency in emailing, scheduling, and creating spreadsheets
  • Ability to be creative, responsible, and think on your feet to create a fun and positive environment for children
  • Ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with children, families, and other team members
  • Ability to create dynamic afterschool and day camp programming and activities
