Assistant Warehouse Manager - Teamwork Makes the Warehouse Work

Full-time position located in Mississauga, ON,

Reporting directly to the Warehouse Manager, the assistant Warehouse Manager role is critical to provide expertise and leadership to establish best practices and sustain performance over time. Based in Mississauga, ON, the Assistant Warehouse Manager role is critical to provide expertise and leadership to establish best practices and sustain performance over time. If you're ready to elevate your career and be part of a forward-thinking company, this is your chance to make a real impact!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Initiate, maintain, and support a superior safety and housekeeping program.
  • Executes a daily business plan to ensure in-bound receipts, outbound orders and customer deliveries are completed in a timely, accurate, cost-effective, damage free and safe manner.
  • Train staff and implement new programs/procedures to improve flow, organization, and efficiency of all warehousing and production areas.
  • Review and analyze production, quality, and other operational reports, initiating changes as needed to ensure a high level of service.
  • Lead all cycle count/physical inventories processes and targets.
  • Drive change in culture towards one of continuous improvement and employee engagement.

Experience & Expertise:

  • 5 years of experience in warehouse management and other functions such as manufacturing, planning, supply chain, etc.
  • 5 years of direct management experience of salaried and/or hourly associates.
  • Skills and proficiency in excel and related business intelligence tools.
  • Expert in warehouse layout and material flow design best practices and implementation.
  • Proven track record of success in applying Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies to improve business outcomes. (Certification in one or both areas is strongly preferred).
  • Experience working in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Strong project management skills and proficiency in excel and related business intelligence tools

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree or relevant experience in an operationally oriented role is required.
  • 5 years of experience in warehouse management, with expertise in manufacturing, planning, or supply chain functions.
  • An understanding of general principles of ERP management.
