The Opportunity

Position:

Baker

Working with our team of cooks/bakers, the position will be responsible for ensuring that we are preparing enough food items for our two cafes while innovating and introducing new products also. Quality and volume of goods are both very high.

Key Accountabilities

The position will include the following responsibilities:

• Prepare menu items in accordance to the current recipes and volume requirements.
• Work with the team of cooks and bakers to ensure that we are producing the highest quality for food items with luxury presentations.
• Working to introduce new food products including breakfast items, new desserts and new baked goods.
• Developing procedures to handle the volume and quality control to meet the demand of the cafes.
• Develop procedures for planning the volume of food items and presentation requirements.

First 90 day deliverables / Measures of Success

Success in the first 90 days will be determined by the candidate’s ability to:

• Immediately jump in and support the volume requirements of baked goods.
• Learn all current recipes and develop better procedures for making baked goods.
• Start the process of developing new items that can be sold in the cafes.
• Build quality control procedures for ensuring that we have sufficient ingredients and resources to meet the growing demand.
• Develop standard operating procedures for all baked goods and food preparation work.
• Start work in new menu items.

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will have the following:

Experience:

• Must Have

o 2+ years of baking experience

o Ability to work independently and within a team of cooks.

o Legally able to work in Canada.

o Previous experience developing new food products for café/restaurant
