HireQuest Direct is hiring for a Bartender with an ABC card

Job summary
We are seeking a skilled and responsible Bartender with a valid ABC card to join our team. The ideal candidate will be an expert in preparing and serving a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages while providing an exceptional guest experience. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for upholding all state and local liquor laws and ensuring the safety and satisfaction of all guests.

Responsibilities

• Customer service : Greet guests warmly, engage in friendly conversation, and provide excellent customer service to encourage a welcoming and positive atmosphere.
• Beverage preparation : Prepare and serve a wide range of beverages, including cocktails, beer, and wine, following standard recipes and presentation guidelines.
• Responsible service : Uphold all alcohol service policies and legal requirements, which includes checking identification to verify legal drinking age and monitoring guest behavior to prevent over-intoxication.
• Order processing : Take and process customer drink and food orders accurately, handling payments, and operating the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently.
• Bar maintenance : Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized bar area at all times, including wiping surfaces, washing glassware, and restocking supplies.
• Inventory management : Assist with managing bar inventory, including tracking stock levels of liquor, mixers, and garnishes, and communicating needs to management.
• Team collaboration : Work effectively with waitstaff, barbacks, and kitchen staff to ensure prompt and seamless service for all patrons.
• Opening and closing duties : Complete all opening and closing procedures, such as setting up the bar, counting cash, and preparing the bar for the next shift.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Bartender in a fast-paced environment.
• Must possess a valid ABC card or state-approved Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification.
• In-depth knowledge of drink recipes, mixology techniques, and beverage presentation.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and remain calm and efficient under pressure.
• Strong teamwork and problem-solving abilities.
• Must be of legal age to serve and handle alcohol.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is often preferred.

Physical requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy items, such as cases of alcohol and kegs, up to 50 pounds.
• Manual dexterity to mix and pour drinks efficiently.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
