Position: Business Development (BD) Director

RSM is looking for a dynamic Business Development Director to drive growth in our Mid-Atlantic market by selling Audit, Tax, and Consulting services to new clients within the Technology, Media, & Telecommunications (TMT) and Industrial/Consumer Products (IP/CP) industry segments.

Position Summary:

The Business Development Director will be responsible for driving growth of the firm's primary services, including Tax, Audit, and Consulting. This role involves leading all aspects of the sales process from prospect targeting to closing deals, building strong sales pipelines, and collaborating with industry leaders and professional groups.

Responsibilities include:

  • Sourcing and qualifying new opportunities.
  • Executing sales plans and coordinating internal resources.
  • Networking within industry groups and Centers of Influence.
  • Supporting cross-selling efforts with existing clients.
  • Developing targeted go-to-market strategies.
  • Building and maintaining sales pipelines and forecasts.
  • Preparing and delivering presentations and proposals.
  • Closing sales and finalizing agreements.
  • Leading cross-functional teams to pursue market opportunities.
  • Leveraging industry and technical resources for new opportunities.
  • Collaborating with other RSM professionals to deliver comprehensive solutions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of successful experience selling professional services to middle-market corporations.
  • Experience working across various industries and leading complex sales cycles involving multiple decision-makers.
  • Established network of Centers of Influence in banking, legal, and professional services sectors.
  • Proficiency with CRM tools and social media for networking and sales tracking.
  • Excellent negotiation, influence, and business acumen skills.
  • Self-motivated with strong time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong communication, presentation, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with large regional or national professional service firms.
  • Active C-level contact network.
  • Community involvement and activity in industry associations.

Salary range: $100,000 - $300,000. Discretionary bonuses are available based on performance.
