W.F. Baird & Associates (“Baird”) is looking for a talented engineering student to join us as a Coastal Engineering Intern for Winter/Spring 2026.

As part of our global team, you’ll dive into real world projects in marine, coastal, and waterfront engineering, from design to construction, while collaborating with Baird offices around the globe. Job Description

What you will do:

  • Working under supervising professional engineers, you will support all Baird global offices by:
    • Participating in field data collection
    • Performing engineering analyses and design of coastal and marine structures
    • Assisting with the preparation of project deliverables including technical reports, calculations, cost estimates, specifications and drawings
    • Assisting with the construction administration tasks for projects currently being constructed

Qualifications

What you bring:

  • Required:
    • Junior, Senior, or Graduate student standing in an ABET accredited engineering program
    • Specializing in water resources, coastal, civil, structural, geological or geotechnical engineering
  • Preferred:
    • Ability to continue working part-time hours into the summer of 2026
    • Previous intern experience with an engineering consulting firm
    • Working knowledge of and experience with AutoCAD
    • Experience with or willingness to learn GIS software
    • Experience with or willingness to learn programming with MATLAB and/or Python
