Job Description

🚫 Please Note:

We are not accepting outreach from external recruiters or agencies for this role.

About North

The public cloud is home to $200B+ in annual technology spend, yet 95% of it is still managed with credit cards and spreadsheets. With AI accelerating cloud growth toward $1T by 2030, businesses need better tools to manage, optimize, and scale their cloud investments.

At North, we’re building the next-generation cloud spend management platform—giving companies clarity, control, and automation over their cloud finances. Our mission is to help organizations take charge of their cloud costs and maximize efficiency in the AI-driven era.

Backed by top-tier investors and trusted by leading customers like Brave, Stayntouch, and The New York Public Library, we’re assembling a world-class team to redefine how businesses manage cloud spend. If you’re looking for impact, growth, and the opportunity to shape the future of cloud finance, North is the place to be.

About the Role

We’re looking for a creative and versatile Content Marketer to help tell the North.Cloud story across mediums. This is a hands-on role where you’ll create standout content, from short-form videos to long-form blogs, that educates, engages, and drives growth. You’ll report directly to our Chief of Staff and work closely with Product, Design, and GTM teams.

This role is perfect for content pros who are as comfortable behind a camera as they are behind a keyboard—and who get excited about turning technical ideas into memorable, high-impact storytelling.

You don’t need a traditional B2B background. We’re open to creatives from all industries who can bring fresh ideas, a strong portfolio, and a passion for making technical topics approachable.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and execute a content strategy that blends writing, video, photography, and visual storytelling
  • Write content that translates complex infrastructure topics into clear, compelling formats—think blogs, case studies, landing pages, whitepapers, and more
  • Plan, shoot, and edit high-quality video content (product walkthroughs, customer interviews, social snippets, etc.)
  • Operate a DSLR camera, manage lighting and audio, and edit footage using tools like Premiere or Final Cut
  • Contribute to press and communications efforts, including identifying story angles, supporting pitches, and helping promote North.Cloud through external publications and newsletters
  • Work cross-functionally to make sure the right stories get told, and actually land
  • Stay plugged in to what’s happening in cloud, AI, and DevOps to create content that feels fresh, not formulaic
  • Contribute to social strategy and GTM campaigns with content that people actually want to click
  • Shape North.Cloud’s tone of voice and content ops as we grow

What We’re Looking For

  • 3–6 years of experience creating content in a fast-paced environment (agency, in-house, or freelance all welcome)
  • A portfolio that shows both strong writing chops and visual storytelling skills (please include links in your resume!)
  • Experience filming and editing short-form and long-form video content—bonus if you’ve worked with product/tech demos
  • A strong grasp of narrative and structure—you know how to hook an audience and keep them reading/watching
  • Familiarity with tools like Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Canva, Webflow, or similar
  • Ability to take technical input (from engineers, product managers, etc.) and turn it into audience-ready content
  • Curiosity about AI, cloud, or infrastructure trends—no need to be an expert, but excitement helps
  • Organized, proactive, and comfortable juggling multiple projects at once

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in a startup or early-stage team
  • Familiarity with LLMs, AI tooling, or developer-first products
  • Comfort publishing and editing web content in CMS tools (Webflow, WordPress, etc.)
  • Understanding of SEO fundamentals and distribution best practices
  • You’ve built a following or helped grow a brand voice from scratch

Work Setup

This is a hybrid role based in New York City. Our office is in the Dumbo, Brooklyn, and we typically spend part of the week in-office and part remote.

Benefits

  • Unlimited PTO
  • Office access in Dumbo, Brooklyn
  • 16-week fully paid parental leave (mothers can extend to 20 weeks at 50% pay)
  • Company-wide breaks: Last week of August and Dec 23–Jan 3
  • Healthcare: Anthem BlueCross Gold PPO, 75% employer-covered
  • 30-day sabbatical every 4 years
  • Ramp card for approved expenses

Compensation

Base salary range: : $80,000–$100,000, depending on experience.
