Job Description

Job Title: Director of Security Location: Oriole Park at Camden Yards, Baltimore MD Reports to: Senior Vice President, Operations and Guest Experience Department: Stadium Operations FLSA Status: Exempt Employment Type: Full-Time Position Summary The Director of Security is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing all security operations at OPACY. This role ensures the safety and security of fans, staff, players, and all visitors, as well as the physical assets of the facility. The Director will lead the security operations and collaborate with local law enforcement, emergency services, and internal departments to create a safe, welcoming environment during events and non-event days. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute comprehensive security policies, emergency preparedness plans, and standard operating procedures. Oversee daily security operations including event-day staffing, credentialing, access control, crowd management, and surveillance. Oversee and manage the event day Event Operations Center Serve as the primary liaison with the Maryland Stadium Authority on all security related matters, as well as local law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services. Monitor ballpark surveillance systems, alarms, and security equipment to ensure operational integrity. Develop and conduct regular safety drills and emergency response training for staff. Investigate incidents and security breaches, prepare reports, and implement corrective actions. Ensure compliance with MLB (or relevant league) security standards and public safety regulations. Manage VIP and player protection protocols when required. Manage and coordinate Orioles travel security professionals. Oversee guest conduct policies and assist with conflict resolution and incident response during events. Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in venue security. Develop and maintain relationships with all surrounding local, state and federal law enforcement agencies. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Emergency Management, or related field (or equivalent experience). Minimum 7–10 years of progressive security management experience, preferably in a ballpark, stadium, arena, or large public venue. Strong knowledge of crowd management, emergency response, and incident command systems. Proven leadership and team management skills. Excellent communication and crisis management abilities. Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. Proficiency in security technology systems (CCTV, access control, incident reporting platforms). Ability to work irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays. Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain relevant certifications (e.g., CPR, First Aid, ICS/NIMS). Preferred Qualifications Prior experience working with MLB or other professional sports organizations. Military, law enforcement, or emergency services background. Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or similar security certification. The anticipated salary for this role is $100,000 - $115,000 annually, depending on experience, plus bonus opportunity.
