Housekeeping and Prep Cook Job Description - Remote Camps

Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated and skilled individual to join our team as a Housekeeping and Prep Cook for our remote camps. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and organization within our facilities while also assisting with food preparation tasks. The ideal candidate will be reliable, detail-oriented, and capable of working efficiently in a remote environment. Work rotations minimum 2 weeks on, one week off.

Responsibilities:

  1. Housekeeping Duties:
    • Clean and sanitize crews' room, common areas, dining facilities, and other designated areas according to established standards.
    • Change linens, and amenities as needed.
    • Sweep and mop floors, and empty trash receptacles.
    • Ensure all cleaning equipment and supplies are properly maintained and stored.
    • Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and notify management when supplies need to be replenished.
  2. Prep Cook Duties:
    • Assist with meal preparation, including chopping vegetables, preparing ingredients, and following recipes.
    • Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, fryers, and food processors.
    • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen area, including proper storage of food items and cleaning of cooking utensils and equipment.
    • Follow food safety protocols and adhere to all health and safety regulations.
    • Assist with dishwashing and kitchen cleanup tasks as needed.
  3. General Responsibilities:
    • Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient operation of the camp facilities.
    • Communicate any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate personnel.
    • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to health, safety, and environmental compliance.
    • Maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor when interacting with guests and coworkers.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in housekeeping and/or food service roles preferred.
  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation standards, and safe food handling practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a remote environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to adhere to a flexible work schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Physical stamina and ability to perform tasks that require standing, bending, lifting, and carrying heavy objects.
