About the Role

We’re exclusively partnered with this forwarder to recruit a Licensed Customs Broker to take a lead role in their import compliance operations. Based onsite in Charlotte, you’ll be the primary licensed resource overseeing complex entry filings, regulatory alignment, and HTS classification. The position is ideal for someone who combines technical customs expertise with the confidence to engage directly with CBP, resolve compliance issues, and support internal team members. You’ll have influence over both transactional accuracy and broader process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Sign and file compliant customs entries for air and ocean import shipments
• Serve as the on-record Licensed Customs Broker for the organization
• Lead HTS classification reviews and ensure alignment with evolving regulations
• Liaise directly with CBP and other regulatory bodies to resolve clearance issues
• Guide and support internal teams on entry procedures and documentation best practices
• Monitor compliance processes and recommend system or procedural improvements

Candidate Requirements

• Active U.S. Customs Broker License (required)
• 5+ years’ experience in customs brokerage or import compliance within freight forwarding
• Strong command of HTS classification and regulatory frameworks (FDA, USDA, etc.)
• Hands-on knowledge of ACE/ABI systems and varied entry types
• Must be based in or able to commute daily to Charlotte, NC
