Role and Responsibilities:

As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) at our clinic, you will play a crucial role in helping children reach their full potential through therapeutic interventions and activities. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the implementation of individualized treatment plans under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists.
  • Conducting therapeutic exercises and activities to improve fine motor skills, sensory integration, visual perception, and self-care abilities.
  • Providing support to children with developmental delays, sensory processing disorders, autism spectrum disorders, and other conditions.
  • Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team, including occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and speech-language pathology assistants to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Documenting patient progress, maintaining accurate records, and preparing reports for insurance purposes.
  • Educating parents and caregivers on home programs and strategies to reinforce therapy goals.
  • Participating in regular team meetings and continuing education opportunities and programs, including feeding therapy, assistive technology and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) services, and social skills programs. We partner with several public school districts, charter schools, and non-public schools, extending our reach and impact across the community.

About Whole Child Therapy

Whole Child Therapy emerged from a vision shared by husband-and-wife occupational therapists Dennis and Ina Necesito, who recognized an opportunity to create something unique – a practice that truly sees and treats each child as a whole person, not just a collection of symptoms.

Our Growth Story: Starting with just 700 square feet in Claremont in 2018, we've grown into a thriving practice with two locations, serving families through both outpatient clinics and school partnerships. Our commitment to holistic treatment and family-centered care has resonated throughout the community, leading to steady growth through five-star reviews and word-of-mouth referrals.

What Sets Us Apart:

Whole-Child Approach: Our neurodiversity-affirming philosophy builds on each child's unique strengths and addresses their needs within their complete life context, not just isolated therapy goals

Therapist-Owned & Operated: Led by clinicians who understand the profession and prioritize both exceptional client care and creating an environment where our team flourishes

Collaborative Environment: Our multidisciplinary team works together, fostering a culture of support and shared expertise

Dual Setting Options: Flexibility to work in our outpatient clinics or school-based settings

Proven Track Record: 500+ weekly clinic sessions plus extensive school partnerships demonstrate our community impact and stability

Our Services: We specialize in pediatric occupational therapy, speech therapy, feeding therapy, assistive technology, AAC services, and social skills programs, partnering with school districts, charter schools, and non-public schools throughout the region.

Join Our Mission

We're seeking passionate SLPAs who share our commitment to seeing each child as a whole person and believe that meaningful therapy requires effectiveness, genuine care, and holistic understanding. If you're looking for a place where you can grow professionally, make a lasting difference in children's lives, and be part of a supportive team that values both clinical excellence and work-life balance, we'd love to hear from you.

Ready to thrive with us? Apply today and become part of a practice where your professional growth matters as much as the children we serve together.

Requirements:

Requirements:

  • Licensed as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in California
  • A passion for working with children and a genuine desire to make a positive impact in their lives.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues, parents, and caregivers.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple cases and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of pediatric patients.
  • Ability to work independently while also being a team player.
  • Previous experience in pediatric occupational therapy or relevant fieldwork experience is preferred. New graduates are welcome to apply.
