Job Description

Incumbents are responsible for aspects of Physician Practice front office management and operation as assigned. May be responsible for some or all front office functions including patient registration, pre-certification, charge capture, coding diagnoses, posting payments, balancing reports, arranging pre-payments, billing, filing insurance claims, assisting patients with insurance forms, processing unpaid accounts, and acting as liaison between patients and medical staff. Duties also include scheduling, maintaining appointment books, providing front office phone support, cashiering functions, assisting with outpatient coding and error resolution, processing insurance claims and disability benefits, maintaining patient account databases, assembling patient charts, maintaining files, and performing collection actions. The role requires excellent interpersonal skills, high public contact, and strict confidentiality. This is a non-management position reporting to a supervisor or manager. Minimum requirements include a High School Diploma or equivalent, with no previous experience required. Preferred qualifications include an Associate's Degree in a technical specialty program, multi-specialty group practice experience, and basic understanding of ICD-9 and CPT coding. Work shift is day time in the United States.
