Overview Join to apply for the Power Plant Operator role at Inova Health . Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is looking for a dedicated Power Plant Operator to join the team. This role is full-time, 40 hours weekly, with various evenings shifts as needed by the department. Schedules are made 1 month in advance. Power Plant Operator Responsibilities Adhere to departmental/governmental safety standards in addition to departmental/organizational personal appearance policies. Chemically analyze boiler, chiller, cooling tower and all closed loop systems to help achieve our mission. Operate and assist in maintaining/repairing all Power Plant equipment with minor supervision. Monitor other engineering systems and take emergency actions when necessary. Respond to plant emergencies and demonstrate knowledge of locations of firefighting equipment, performing safety checks on plant equipment. Understand the importance of chemical balance in all systems. Clean and paint equipment, piping and related accessories in the Power Plant and mechanical rooms. Perform chemical analysis tests and add the correct amount of chemicals to maintain prescribed balance in boilers, cooling towers and closed loop systems. Minimum Requirements Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in maintenance field. Experience: 1 year of experience as an operating engineer or in a related field; prior experience with operating boilers, generators and/or conducting mechanical maintenance.
