A bit about us:

A residential and multifamily real estate development company in Cincinnati, OH, is looking to hire a part-time project accountant to its team. You will work up to 24 hours per week for a 12-month contract.

This is a hybrid position with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote.

Responsibilities:

Conduct General Ledger (GL) review and ensure accuracy.
Prepare and post monthly Journal Entries (JEs).
Record and manage Project Draw entries and process payments for projects under construction.
Assist with monthly and annual account reconciliations.
Support Annual Audit by preparing workpapers and related documentation.
Contribute to budget preparation for projects and operations.

Responsibilities:

As a Consulting Project Accountant, you will:

1. Oversee project accounting functions, including project draw, GL review, and journal entries.
2. Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
3. Maintain project cost accounting records and monitor project budgets and expenditures.
4. Provide development accounting services, ensuring that all financial aspects of the project development process are accurately captured and reported.
5. Apply your knowledge of construction accounting principles to effectively manage the financial aspects of construction projects.
6. Prepare financial analyses and reports, providing valuable insights that will guide decision-making.
7. Implement and maintain internal financial controls and procedures, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for the Consulting Project Accountant position will possess the following qualifications:

1. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 4 years of experience in project accounting, with a focus on project draw, GL review, journal entries, development accounting, project cost accounting, and construction accounting.
3. Exceptional financial acumen and a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
4. Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and provide useful insights.
6. Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members at all levels of the organization.
