Job Description

MDG is looking for a full time Purchasing Assistant located at our main office in Woodbury Long Island.

JOB RESPONSIBIITIES:

  • Verifies purchase requisitions by comparing items requested to master list; clarifying unclear items.
  • Prepares purchase orders by verifying specifications and price
  • Keeps information accessible by sorting and filing documents.
  • Maintain accurate costs on all purchased items.
  • Act as liaison with AP regarding invoicing issues, vendor terms, price discrepancies etc. and works on vendors issues collaboratively
  • Perform administrative and office support activities for the Product Manager/Purchasing Manager
  • Assists in performing warehouse inventory cycle counts

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS:

  • Proficient in MS Office; Word, Excel and Outlook-Calendar
  • MS Access, Timberline and Procore is preferred.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication and outstanding customer service skills,
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, self-Motivated and ability to prioritize tasks and projects with limited direction and time constraints.
  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive in dealing with issues that may arise
  • Must be a good culture fit: Professional presence, open-minded, positive attitude and team player
  • Interact professionally with all office visitors and incoming callers.
  • Experience handling sensitive and confidential information and material

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school degree is required.
  • Associates or bachelor’s degree is required.
  • 2+ years relevant experience
