Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Manufacturing Purchasing Manager to oversee procurement activities and manage supplier relationships to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials for our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated individual with a strong understanding of supply chain processes, cost control, and vendor negotiation within a job-shop manufacturing environment. Experience with steel pipe and fittings is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:
• Work proficiently with the ERP software to evaluate purchasing requisitions and determine the cost basis from sales quote.
• Source, evaluate, and negotiate with vendors to ensure the best pricing, quality, and delivery terms.
• Manage purchase orders, contract agreements, and supplier performance.
• Work closely with production, engineering, and inventory teams to forecast material requirements and prevent supply disruptions.
• Update sales team on material trends to allow for better accuracy on the quoting system.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities, supplier consolidation, and alternative sourcing.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data.
• Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to president related to procurement effectiveness and supplier performance.
• Maintain item database of purchased parts within the ERP software system.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of purchasing/procurement experience, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience in vendor negotiation, contract management, and ERP systems (Syteline,SAP, Oracle, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, raw materials, and logistics.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
• Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP), CPM, or similar certification is a plus.
