The Office of Undergraduate Education (UE) at the Pennsylvania State University seeks a dynamic and experienced individual for the position of a Research and Analysis Consultant. This role supports the missions and activities of the Office of Undergraduate Education and other UE offices. The consultant will design, conduct, and lead research studies involving quantitative and qualitative data analysis to inform decision-making on unit-level issues and priorities. The candidate will collaborate with administrators and directors, providing guidance on analytical techniques, interpreting data reports, assessing program impacts, and developing strategies. The position reports to the Senior Vice Provost who oversees the Office of Undergraduate Education and the Office of Faculty Affairs, with potential collaboration opportunities across these offices. Key responsibilities include providing decision support to senior leadership, designing advanced research studies using multiple data sources, and collaborating with university faculty, staff, and research practitioners. Required skills include data querying, cleaning, statistical analysis, data analytics, program evaluation, database knowledge, coding/programming (SQL, MS Access, R, SPSS, Excel), data visualization (PowerBI, graphics, MS Whiteboard), survey and qualitative research, communication, presentation, organization, project management, and strategic leadership. Education and experience requirements include a Master’s Degree with 6+ years of relevant experience or equivalent, ability to communicate technical information to diverse audiences, and a proven track record in presenting complex data to leadership.
