As a Security Officer – Government Access in Harvest, AL , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government and more .

As a Security Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in supporting access control operations at a government location. Your responsibilities will include monitoring entry points, verifying credentials, and conducting routine patrols to help to deter security-related incidents. You will remain highly visible, providing a reassuring presence while delivering outstanding customer service and clear communication to all visitors and staff. This position requires the use of a computer or tablet for logging activities and responding to alarm panels as needed. As this is a driving post, a valid driver's license in the job state is required. What You’ll Do:

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and control access to the location, verifying identification and credentials of individuals entering or exiting the premises.
  • Provide customer service by assisting visitors and staff with access-related inquiries and following site-specific procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity.
  • Document and report any security-related incidents, observations, or irregularities according to site and Allied Universal guidelines.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and/or emergency responders as needed during incidents or emergencies.
  • Maintain awareness of surroundings and report any potential security-related concerns to the appropriate personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
