Job Summary: The Server/Barista is responsible for providing excellent customer service by taking food and beverage orders, serving meals, and preparing a variety of coffee and non-coffee beverages. This role requires a friendly demeanor, strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be passionate about hospitality and dedicated to creating a positive dining experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

• Guest Service:
  • Warmly greet and welcome guests upon arrival.
  • Present menus, answer questions about menu items, and offer recommendations.
  • Accurately take food and beverage orders using our POS system.
  • Serve food and beverages promptly and professionally.
  • Anticipate guest needs and proactively offer assistance.
  • Address guest concerns or complaints courteously and efficiently, escalating to management when necessary.
  • Process payments accurately and efficiently, including cash, credit card, and mobile payments.
  • Maintain a clean and organized dining area, including table setup and bussing.
• Barista Duties:
  • Prepare a wide range of coffee beverages (e.g., espresso, latte, cappuccino, Americano) to high-quality standards.
  • Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and other coffee equipment.
  • Understand different coffee beans, roasts, and brewing methods.
  • Prepare non-coffee beverages such as teas, shakes, and fresh juices.
  • Monitor coffee bean and ingredient inventory, informing management of stock levels.
  • Ensure all beverages are prepared and served according to established recipes and presentation standards.
• Team Collaboration:
  • Work effectively with kitchen staff, fellow servers, and management to ensure smooth operations.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely with team members.
  • Assist in opening and closing duties as assigned.
  • Adhere to all restaurant policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations.
• Other Duties:
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in all work areas, including the dining area, bar, and restrooms.
  • Assist with inventory counting and stock rotation as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a server or barista in a restaurant or cafe for 2 years.
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly and outgoing personality.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• A keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality.
• Must possess a valid health card (or willingness to obtain one upon hiring).
