Collaborates with researchers to develop and deliver statistical analyses, datasets, control charts, and other data products for research studies and grant proposals. Serves as an expert in biostatistics and epidemiology for the Stanley Manne Children’s Research Institute. Develops and submits statistical/methods sections for grant applications and writes statistical/methods and findings sections of scientific papers. Guides master’s trained statisticians in complex analytic projects, taking ownership of project plans, including estimating task durations, documenting risks, dependencies, constraints, and tracking issues impacting project completion. Independent research and faculty appointment considerations are based on background, experience, and interest. Essential Job Functions: Provides statistical support across interdisciplinary research programs. Advises researchers and analysts in statistical methodologies. Conducts training to enhance research and analytic skills. Writes and reviews statistical/methodology sections of grant proposals. Prepares statistical/methods/finding sections of scientific papers. Develops programs and routines using SAS or equivalent software, and visualizations with Microsoft tools. Defines data requirements for research monitoring and workflow processes. Creates programs/scripts to extract data using Epic Clarity, SQL, SAS, etc. Validates database extracts against transactional data. Ensures compliance with HIPAA and data privacy regulations. Performs additional duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Doctoral degree in biostatistics, epidemiology, or related field. At least 5 years of experience in biostatistics or related healthcare research areas. Experience mentoring statisticians, faculty, residents, or fellows. Proven grant writing and academic publication experience. Minimum 5 years programming in SAS or equivalent, with at least 1 year in SQL. Experience with Epic electronic medical records is preferred. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Salary range is $93,600.00-$154,440.00. Benefits include health insurance, retirement plans, PTO, and other employee support services.
