Job Description

TechKnowHow is looking for charismatic and engaging lead and assistant instructors to guide students in weekly LEGO or Minecraft camps in the San Francisco Bay Area this winter. As a leader in tech and Lego camps for over 30 years, we know how to create great experiences for both our campers and our staff. Well train you in all the skills you will need, including the curriculum content, teaching in a camp setting, lead team-building activities, and managing the kids. If you enjoy both tech and LEGO or simply enjoy working with kids and helping them learn, then this position is perfect for you. The experience is so rewarding, many of our staff members return year after year! Each camp has a minimum of 2 teachers, and a maximum of 20 students. You can focus on LEGO, coding, or Minecraft. Campers are ages 5-13.

We DO NOT provide housing.

We are seeking Lead Instructors and Assistant Instructors (Camp Counselors).

General hours are 8-4, or 9-5, Monday-Friday.

Camps begin June 9 and end August 8.

We are looking for instructors who can work at least 4 weeks during the summer, with up to 8 weeks available.

We provide training which covers the projects and classroom management skills.

Available locations to work include:

1. San Francisco
2. Burlingame
3. Foster City
4. Palo Alto
5. Cupertino
6. San Jose
7. Fremont
8. Oakland

Most of our summer instructors reported receiving internships or jobs at tech-related companies while in or after graduating college with firms including Google, Palo Alto Networks, Intuitive Surgical Robotics, as well as teaching positions at schools.

Qualifications:

1. Worked or volunteered in a position that involved working with kids. Examples include coaching, tutoring, childcare, etc.
2. Driven to help all children excel and succeed in their learning goals.

Compensation:
$19-23 per hour

Skills required:

1. Experience working with kids, ideally in a group setting.
2. Excellent communication skills, ability to teach curriculum, professional.
3. Responsible and punctual.
4. Enthusiastic and patient personality to effectively engage and motivate children with a wide range of ages and abilities.
