Job Title: Travel RN – PCU (Progressive Care Unit) – Nights
Assignment Type: Travel Contract
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Duration: 13 Weeks
Location: Salem, Virginia

Compensation Package

• Gross Weekly Pay: $2,405
• Weekly Stipend (Housing/Meals): $1,246
• W2 Hourly Rate (Taxable): $32.20

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care to PCU patients.
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms.
• Manage chest tubes, epidurals, PCA, and critical drips (e.g., NTG, Cardizem, Amiodarone).
• Care for patients post-cardiac catheterization, EP studies, device placements, and general/post-op surgical patients.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Float as needed to ICU (PCU-type patients) and Med-Surg units.
• Maintain accurate documentation within the EMR system.

Requirements

Required Experience/Skills:

• Minimum 2 years of PCU nursing experience.
• Strong knowledge of cardiac rhythms and post-surgical patient care.
• Proficiency in chest tube and epidural management.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) – Required

Other Details

• Patient Ratio: 4–5 patients per RN.
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend or 4 weekend shifts during contract.
• Dress Code: Navy or white scrubs (mix and match acceptable).
