Warehouse Associate Job Description 

Role Overview 

Looking for a temp to hire for a position to work in our dynamic, high volume, and fast paced environment. 

We want an individual who is independent and proactive, and who is open to taking on more responsibilities over time. This role will be forklift intensive and require movement of multiple forms of packaged goods, packaging of material, as well as material Quality Control. 

This responsibility requires strong critical thinking as well as robust attention to detail with a proactiveness and requirement 

Timeframe 

● 8:30am – 5:00pm Monday through Friday 

Responsibilities 

● Loading and unloading trucks and containers with plastic material that comes in a range of packaging, such as boxes, super sacks, bales, crates, rolls, etc. 

● Quality control of plastic materials; includes grading of plastic material and identifying when this material does not meet expected qualities or is different than what was ordered (to be trained on) Weighing boxes and generating packing lists and labels from a computer 

● Generating outbound packing lists from a handheld barcode scanner 

● Handling trucking documentation such as scale tickets and Bills of Lading 

● Greeting trucks, communicating with driver on load details, and relaying inbound and outbound truck movement to Grow team via messaging apps (WhatsApp) 

● Packaging material with a telehandler (bobcat) into supersacks 

○ This can be a responsibility that is dependent on further equipment training, not an initial requirement 

● Cleaning and organizing warehouse floor for optimal space 

● Prepping material samples for UPS / Fedex 

Requirements 

● Need to Have 

○ Minimum of 2 years of forklift experience handling a range of different packaging such as gaylord boxes, bales, super sacks, crates 

○ Ability to load and unload trucks with strong accuracy and efficiency 

■ Very useful if they have also handled shipping container loading along with standard trucks 

○ Exposure to tech such as barcode scanners, excel packing lists, email or WhatsApp / messaging apps 

○ Strong attention to detail 

○ Comfort level with working independently and learning on the job as well as taking on leadership roles in their daily responsibilities 

Good to Have 

○ Experience in plastics specifically 

○ Experience with a telehandler / bobcat / scoop machine 

○ Knowledge in forklift maintenance [oil changes, engine issues, etc.] 

○ OSHA / PPE exposure or certification
