Position Summary:
The Senior Coordinator, Publications for the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine supports the development and delivery of SMFM documents, including clinical guidelines. Supports and engages with key stakeholders, partners, and members. Works collaboratively with the Publications Team (consisting of the Publications Director and Publications Coordinator) and other SMFM teams involved in document development and dissemination.
This position is open to remote workers .
Responsibilities:
Publications and Clinical Guidelines
- With guidance from the Publications Director, conduct literature reviews to inform clinical guideline development.
- Complete scoping reviews to assist SMFM committees in developing clinical and non-clinical publications.
- Take primary responsibility for drafting evidence tables for SMFM clinical guidance. Revise evidence tables with the support of the Publications Director as needed.
- In collaboration with the Publications Team, format, copyedit, and proofread documents developed by multiple SMFM committees.
- Complete reference verification for SMFM clinical publications.
- Assist with tracking and monitoring publications in development, in collaboration with the Publications Coordinator.
- Provide technical and administrative support to contractors and other external participants in clinical guidance development.
- Provide administrative support to external partner organizations for the joint development or endorsement of clinical publications.
- Assist with evaluating current document development tools and proposing improvements.
- Lead updates of publication development resources for document authors, committee members, staff, and the larger SMFM audience.
Other
- Work with the SMFM Education team to support the translation of SMFM clinical publications into provider and patient education, including podcasts, infographics, webinars, etc.
- Work with the SMFM Communications team to promote new SMFM publications.
- Provide support to other SMFM committee staff in the development and internal review of clinical products.
- Provide technical and administrative support for the planning of the annual SMFM President’s Workshop.
- Contribute content to the workshop program and assist in the development of final work products.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- High level of attention to detail and excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite, including Sharepoint and Teams.
- Experience conducting literature searches using PubMed or other databases.
- Experience with EndNote or other reference management software.
- Strong project and time management skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diversified office and volunteer leadership.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines with a strong attention to detail.
- High levels of intellectual curiosity, adaptability, and emotional intelligence.
- Ability to multitask, remain cool under pressure, and manage diverse priorities with positive outcomes.
- Experience working for a membership association, healthcare entity, or grant-funded organization is a plus.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
