Under the supervision of the Security Manager and Security Supervisors, responsible for assuring the safety and security of the patrons attending events, employees, and facility assets. This is a part-time, casual position as needed based on events. Essential duties include providing excellent customer service, maintaining a courteous and professional demeanor, exercising restraint and patience with disruptive patrons, searching patrons and belongings using metal detectors and bag checks, assisting with ticket scanning and credential verification, crowd management, assisting with orderly movement of patrons, being alert and proactive in handling disturbances, patrolling inside and outside the facility including parking garage and walkways, directing patrons to appropriate locations, ensuring patrons are in correct locations with proper tickets, responding to patron questions and comments, communicating issues to Security Supervisor, overseeing assigned areas for spills or staff attention needs, following emergency protocols, maintaining building rules and regulations, and other assigned duties. Qualifications include being a NYS Licensed Security Guard, at least 18 years old, HS Diploma or GED, minimum six months prior security experience, excellent customer service skills, professional presentation and work ethic, fluency in English, ability to work irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays, and ability to meet physical demands such as walking, standing, climbing stairs, and exposure to adverse conditions.
