Pride Health is hiring a Retail/Inpatient Pharmacist to support Modoc Medical Center in Alturas, CA . This is a 4-week temp-to-perm opportunity with weekday hours and a focus on both clinical care and retail operations in a rural hospital setting.

 

Job Summary:

The Retail/Inpatient Pharmacist is responsible for the safe, accurate dispensing of medications and overseeing all areas of retail pharmaceutical services. The role includes compounding prescriptions, reviewing medication orders, managing pharmacy operations, and providing patient counseling when appropriate. The pharmacist will also contribute to customer service initiatives and ensure full regulatory compliance.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Review, compound, and dispense prescribed medications accurately
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and interns in accordance with legal ratios
• Ensure compliance with state/federal regulations and safety protocols
• Educate patients on medications, side effects, and storage
• Maintain accurate inventory, patient records, and billing data
• Monitor and resolve third-party insurance issues
• Participate in customer service and loss prevention programs
• Maintain and update pharmacy policies and quality standards

 

Qualifications:

• Education: PharmD or equivalent degree
• Experience: Entry-level candidates welcome (less than 1 year of experience)
• Licensure: Current active California Pharmacist License required
• Certifications: BLS certification and immunizer certification required
